Prof Shah H. Khan, is an internationally renowned Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with NHS base at East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Central Lancashire. He is also Honorary Visiting Professor at Sahara Medical College, Narowal.
He has over 15 years of experience and expertise in medicolegal work, providing expert witness in personal injury and clinical negligence. He specialises in all aspects of Musculoskeletal imaging. He has expertise in xray, ultrasound, CT and MRI scans.
He is the only British radiologist awarded, the prestigious ESSR/ISS Award (European Society of Skeletal Radiology/International Skeletal Society) for Best Scientific research, Oxford, 2005.
Recently awarded prestigious Bronze award by the National Clinical Excellence Committee in 2016, in recognition of his immense contribution to excellence in radiology.
He regularly receives about 100-150 instructions from both claimants and defendants with 90% claimants and 10% defendants.
Shah Khan has completed the Expert Witness Certificate (2008), Bond Solon course in conjunction with Cardiff University, on medicolegal practice including report writing and cross-examination for court appearance. He did a refresher on Report writing course by Bond Solon (2018).
He provides thorough and considered medical reports, which are clear and clarify the issues raised, providing unambiguous opinion and require minimal, if any, amendments or queries. Shah does less cases than peers as each case he takes is a commitment to do his best for the case. He takes his time in going through the cases and formulating his report, sifting through the scans and providing incisive expert opinion, backed by literature review and references.

Although he has had training as expert witness in cross-examination for court appearance but has yet to attend court. This is a testament of the clarity and considered opinion provided, that facilitates early settlement of cases and avoiding costly court proceedings.
